Attend the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet November 6

Sheryl Guinn, Esq., NAACP Nashville Branch President

The Nashville Branch of the NAACP has one major fundraising event every year which is called their Freedom Fund.  This fundraiser allows them to operate their office and keep the community informed so the community can hold school board, legislators, judges, and our mayor accountable for what is happening to the people in our city.  They need your support of this event.

“The NAACP office receives complaints daily from the community such as: a landlord who is refusing to repair plumbing or improper electricity; an employer refuses to pay an employee; a police officer that abuses a suspect; business owners unfairly being denied government contracts; inmates being treated unfairly in prison; and students experiencing unfair conditions in our Metro public schools,” says Sheryl Guinn, Esq., the Nashville Branch President.

From police brutality to COVID-19 to voter suppression, Black communities are under attack. We work to disrupt inequality, dismantle racism, and accelerate change in key areas including criminal justice, health care, education, climate, and the economy. When it comes to civil rights and social justice, we have the unique ability to secure more wins than anyone else. Help make racial equity a reality.

“The insurrection on January 6, 2021 shows that even though this country recognized how poorly George Floyd was treated in May 2020, this country is not ready to hold our government accountable for how minorities are treated” says Guinn. “The NAACP is here to fight to level playing field by fighting for equality for all Americans.”

Help them to continue the fight by purchasing a ticket or multiple tickets to their NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner and 102nd Anniversary “The Journey Continues” fundraiser at Music City Center, 201 John Lewis Way South. “The Journey Continues” begins at 6:00 pm with a Walk Through Reception, followed at 7:00 pm by the Program and Dinner on November 6, 2021.

Individual tickets are $150.00 + $10.76 Fee. Other options for tables and corporations are available at the chapter website: naacpnashville.org.  Please make your reservations no later than Friday, October 15, 2021.
